Child And Adolescent
Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
CAMHS
aims to provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for Jersey
residents below the age of 16, (or 18 for those in full time
education). This involves working with young people who have
significant emotional, behavioural, interpersonal and
developmental difficulties, including the full range of
psychiatric illness and their families/ carers.
The
team receives referrals from professionals working with children
and adolescents, particularly General Practitioners. The
referral is considered by the team who will then offer an
initial assessment or suggest a more appropriate service. An
initial assessment allows the team to gather more information
and assess the concerns so that a plan of therapeutic
intervention can be developed. This maybe within CAMHS or with
other services.
CAMHS
is located at Royde House, Midvale Road, St Helier, JE2 3YR and
is open Monday to Friday 9.00 to 5.00. Telephone 01534 716030.
